Hello readers! Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday. This week we’re naming our most anticipated reads for the first half of 2019.
This meme was launched by The Broke and the Bookish and has been hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. If you’d like to find out more, or to create your own list, simply visit the host website by clicking here.
This week’s challenge was seriously tricky. 2019 looks set to be a year of great literature but I’ve managed to whittle down my list to just ten soon-to-be-released books.
On the Come Up by Angie Thomas
Could this be the most anticipated title of 2019? I’m massively excited about the new novel Angie Thomas is releasing later this year.
The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff
An abandoned suitcase found in Manhattan reveals the secrets of an all-female spy ring, operating against the Nazis during the Second World War.
Unmarriageable by Soniah Kamal
Random House describes Unmarriageable as Pride and Prejudice in Pakistan. What more could an Austen fan ask for?
Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
What happens when the President of the United States’ son falls in love with the Prince of Wales, heir to the British throne? The synopsis of this book makes me want to find out!
When All Is Said by Anne Griffin
An eighty-four-year-old man toasts the five people who have meant the most to him.
The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls by Anissa Gray
When their older sister and her husband are arrested out of the blue, Lillian and Viola must pull together to care for their nieces, despite their family’s new status as the town’s pariahs.
The Wall by John Lancaster
The little I’ve heard about this book has already piqued my interest. John Lancaster has created a dystopian version of post-apocalypse Britain.
The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins
I really, really want to read this story. In 1826 Frannie, a maid, is placed on trial for murdering her employers. Did she really do the deed?
Place of Gold by Trevor Noah
Ninety percent of the books I read last year were novels so I’m determined to read more non-fiction this year. I loved Trevor Noah’s first autobiography, Born a Crime. Place of Gold continues the story of his life.
Do you want to read any of these books in 2019? Let me know in the comments below!
Unmarriageable has such an intriguing premise. I hope it’s good.

I definitely want to read Red, White, and Royal Blue. And I still need to read Born a Crime. I have seen Trevor Noah live though and he’s amazing to listen to.

THE LOST GIRLS OF PARIS is on my list today, too! I love Jenoff’s WWII books. They’re always interesting and well-written. I hope we both love this newest one!
