This is a book for cold winter nights and cosy evenings with crackling fires. Possibly stupidly, I read it during one of England’s rare mini-heatwaves. The story enchanted me despite the weather. I’m glad to have read this book on Remembrance Sunday. Set in World War One, Regeneration uncovers the hidden trauma of the trenches. Author, Pat Barker, describes the work of Dr William H. R.
